The role of Front Desk Associate at The Inn at Opryland is a full-time, non-management position that plays a critical function in creating a seamless and welcoming experience for guests. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing, confirming, processing, and conducting all guest check-ins and check-outs with efficiency and professionalism. This role demands meticulous attention to detail in managing room reservations, requests, changes, and cancellations, as well as securing payment and verifying and adjusting billing as necessary. Additionally, the associate will handle the activation and filing of room keys, ensuring guests have immediate and easy access to their accommodations. The position requires processing guest requests promptly, relaying messages, and printing contingency lists to maintain an accurate record of all guests in case of emergencies. Front Desk Associates are also expected to be knowledgeable about room features and hotel amenities, providing guests with clear and helpful directions and information about services, hours of operation, and local points of interest to enhance their stay. They will follow up on outstanding requests or issues from previous shifts, run and review daily reports and logs, and complete cashier and closing reports using the computer system. Handling wake-up call requests, managing the bank at the beginning and end of shifts, processing various payment types, and ensuring security by notifying Loss Prevention or Security of any theft reports are integral parts of this role. Beyond transactional duties, the associate will uphold Marriott’s high standards for guest interaction by welcoming and acknowledging guests warmly, anticipating their needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and expressing genuine appreciation. Communication skills are essential, as the associate will speak professionally with guests and colleagues and handle telephone etiquette. Teamwork is key, with the associate establishing positive working relationships and supporting shared goals. The role includes physical elements such as standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and the ability to move objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance. The hourly pay for this position is $22.00, with evening shift availability required.
