The role available is that of a Guest Room Cleaner, a vital position within Boyd Gaming’s hospitality operations. This role is responsible for ensuring that guest rooms meet and exceed the company’s cleanliness and maintenance standards. A Guest Room Cleaner is a cornerstone of the guest experience, providing a clean, safe, and comfortable environment that ensures guests have a positive impression of their stay. This position requires attention to detail, consistency, and a strong commitment to maintaining company standards. The focus includes thorough cleaning of guest rooms which encompasses changing bed linens, collecting used bath linens, dusting surfaces, vacuuming carpets, cleaning bathroom fixtures including sinks, counters, tubs, showers, and toilets, as well as replenishing room amenities like tissues and soaps. In addition to cleaning duties, the Guest Room Cleaner is responsible for ensuring the security of guest rooms and their contents. They must handle guest requests quickly and efficiently, demonstrating excellent communication and problem-solving skills. The role involves managing supplies effectively by stocking the supply cart with necessary cleaning materials and accurately updating room status and completing all relevant departmental paperwork. Furthermore, the Guest Room Cleaner must notify the housekeeping office promptly of any needed repairs within the rooms to maintain the high standards of the establishment. This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, maneuver a supply cart weighing approximately 200 pounds, and handle lifting up to 30 pounds. Additionally, the job entails various physical activities including kneeling, reaching, stooping, bending, scrubbing, sweeping, vacuuming, and dusting. Knowledge of the appropriate use of cleaning chemicals is advantageous, and candidates may need to obtain or maintain certain certifications or licenses as required by the company.
