This full-time position of General Resources Events and Special Projects Coordinator is central to the effective operation of the Tribe's community engagement efforts. Based in Snoqualmie, WA, this role requires a professional who can skillfully plan, organize, and coordinate a variety of community events and special projects under the General Resources Department umbrella. The events include significant tribal celebrations and ceremonies such as the Inter-Tribal Veterans Brunch, Tribal Christmas Party, Graduation Dinner, and other cultural and family events. Additionally, the role extends to overseeing operations at the Child Development Center through organizing visiting educator schedules, managing monthly curriculum meetings, and handling essential supply orders funded by grants.
Reporting to the Administration Office on a weekly basis, the coordinator will increase their office presence during weeks leading to scheduled events, which average about ten annually. Weekend single-day commitments for these events are mandatory. The position involves both Level I and Level II responsibilities; at Level I, the focus is on directly coordinating events, assisting with clerical duties related to large projects, managing smaller special projects like shipment coordination, and monitoring tribal veteran programs including vehicle programs and external resource linkages. At Level II, responsibilities expand to include monitoring compliance with tribal and governmental regulations, assisting in departmental planning and policy development, managing contracts with external vendors, and conducting thorough analysis and reporting of event data and budgets.
The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations including tribal community members, veterans, and early childhood educators. They must possess problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. A knowledge of Native cultures, history, and traditions is strongly preferred, along with the capacity to maintain confidentiality, tact, and discretion. This role involves collaboration with various tribal and external agencies to facilitate event success and program development.
This position offers a starting hourly wage of $27.21, with compensation commensurate with experience.
