The role of General Manager at Madison Reed's Hair Color Bars is a full-time, leadership position designed for entrepreneurial leaders who are passionate about the beauty industry and driven to deliver remarkable business and guest satisfaction outcomes. This role offers a competitive salary range between $65,000 and $70,000 annually, with additional opportunities for monthly bonuses, reflecting factors such as location, skills, education, and experience. Notably, new hires at the Westport Hair Color Bar location are eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus, paid out in two installments. As the General Manager, you will lead a diverse team comprising Shift Leads, Client Support Specialists, Colorists, and Assistant Colorists, inspiring them to uphold the highest standards of guest services and ensure an amazing guest experience.
In this position, you will be responsible for setting the strategic vision and operational roadmap for your Hair Color Bar, adhering to Madison Reed's best practices while fostering innovation and community relationships to grow the business. Your leadership will be fundamental in driving guest satisfaction, building the business through sales and operational excellence, and developing a thriving, engaged team. This role requires a dynamic professional with hands-on expertise in cosmetology and salon management, capable of stepping in to provide services as needed and supporting the district team. The General Manager must be available to work during weekends, holidays, and peak business times to meet the demands of the salon environment effectively.
With responsibilities spanning from recruitment, onboarding, and employee scheduling to achieving key performance metrics such as retail sales, service delivery, and membership growth, this role combines operational management with deep team leadership. The position also requires managing cleanliness, inventory, merchandising, and asset security to maintain company standards in every aspect of the Hair Color Bar.

- Active cosmetology license in the state in which you are applying
- Minimum 2 years of salon and retail experience
- At least 2 years of operational management experience
- Experience supervising team members and participating in hiring, training and scheduling
- Strong technical proficiency in hair coloring
- Ability to meet physical demands including standing and walking for extended periods
- Availability to work on weekends, holidays, and peak business times
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and lead a diverse team
