The Restaurant General Manager (RGM) at Popeyes plays a critical executive role focused on driving profitability, enhancing guest satisfaction, managing daily restaurant operations, and leading team development. The RGM has full responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the restaurant's performance, including financial management, operational standards, and team leadership. This position requires a passionate leader who can invest in cultivating leaders from within the team, creating memorable dining experiences for guests, and maintaining brand standards to ensure consistency across all customer touchpoints.
Key to this role is the ability to manage the restaurant Profit and Loss (P&L) to achieve desired financial outcomes. The RGM analyzes key financial lines, such as sales and labor costs, to optimize profitability while driving sales through proactive guest service and efficient operations management. This involves adjusting laboratory allocation based on shift requirements and identifying opportunities to improve business results.
Creating an exceptional guest experience is a cornerstone of the RGM’s responsibilities. By motivating and directing team members to provide friendly, accurate, and fast service within a clean, welcoming facility, the RGM ensures guests receive superior service. The role also includes managing guest feedback proactively, solving problems by identifying root causes, and implementing corrective action plans. Engaging with the local community and executing marketing initiatives are also important aspects of guest experience enhancement.
Leadership development is another vital component of the RGM position. The RGM leads recruitment and selection processes to build a high-performing and cohesive team, fosters a culture of recognition and motivation through individual and team incentives, and provides coaching and feedback to assistant managers and team members to continuously raise team capabilities and restaurant performance.
Additionally, the RGM enforces strict adherence to health, safety, cleanliness, security, and fire regulations to ensure compliance and uphold brand standards. The RGM also ensures that all brand programs, limited-time offers, and core products are delivered with operational excellence. The role demands strong troubleshooting skills to address equipment malfunctions and the ability to coordinate maintenance support when necessary.
This full-time position requires individuals to possess open availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and to be physically capable of meeting the job’s demands in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The RGM must be committed and inspiring, with a deep understanding of guest service principles, leadership skills, and operational expertise. - Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1-2 years of previous quick service restaurant experience, experience in management preferred
- Some understanding of P&L interpretation and management to influence profitability
- Ability to prioritize own and others' work and time to meet deadlines and objectives
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Demonstrated understanding of guest service principles
- Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to work long and/or irregular shifts as needed for proper functioning of the restaurant
- Must have open availability
