The employment opportunity is for a full-time General Manager who will play a critical leadership role in driving the Attractions Strategy and achieving the Center’s financial and operational goals. Compensation for this position ranges between $80,000 and $90,000 per year, reflecting the importance and seniority of the role.
The General Manager position at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan involves comprehensive responsibilities that blend leadership, strategic planning, operational management, and guest service excellence. The role requires a strong focus on delivering short and long-term EBITDA targets while fostering a guest-first culture that resonates through all aspects of the guest experience. This leader will champion data-driven decision making to improve guest satisfaction and operational efficiency. Key to the role is the development and execution of strategic marketing plans across multiple channels to drive audience segmentation, identify new markets, and unlock growth opportunities. As a visible brand ambassador, the General Manager will represent the company both internally and externally, ensuring a consistent and values-driven presence.
Financial performance management is central to this role, including overseeing P&L, ROI, cost controls, and revenue initiatives such as Revenue Per Capita optimization and channel yield improvements. The role also demands oversight of capital projects, ensuring deliverables are met on time, within budget, and align with targeted returns. The General Manager leads by fostering high-performance culture, employee engagement, and inclusive talent development practices with a focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, wellbeing, and succession planning. Operational responsibilities include maintaining robust safety standards, compliance, minimizing risk, and efficient staffing to consistently deliver world-class experiences. This position works closely with HR to manage employment policies and build partnerships with the local community and stakeholders. Successful candidates will be adaptable, resilient, and confident, with excellent communication skills and a collaborative leadership style. They are expected to drive change initiatives, promote open communication, and deliver corporate social responsibility goals, ensuring the brand’s integrity is upheld at all times.
- Bachelor's degree in business, management, or marketing preferred
