This role is based at the La Quinta Charleston - Riverview located at 11 Ashley Pointe Drive in Charleston, SC, and involves the position of General Manager. This full-time, yearly compensated role entails overarching responsibility for the hotel's profitability through focused revenue generation, effective cost control, guest satisfaction, and the development of employees. The General Manager is charged with upholding the integrity and standards of the hotel as part of Highgate's Select Service Division. Responsibilities include daily oversight of operating departments through department heads, leading weekly staff meetings and training sessions to align with Highgate's hotel standards, and managing financial operations such as budget productivity levels and checkbook accounting procedures. The role also involves partnering closely with the Director of Sales to drive sales efforts, including client engagement, account calling, and hosting events. In addition to financial and operational management, the General Manager will play an essential role in developing future managers through competency training, conducting regular inspections, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, and fostering a positive team-oriented environment focused on guest satisfaction. This leadership position demands a dynamic individual capable of multitasking, problem-solving, and maintaining high accountability for team performance and guest experience. The role also requires active participation in management coverage, interviewing management candidates, conducting performance appraisals, and implementing disciplinary actions when necessary. - At least 6 years progressive experience in hotel or related field
- Or a 4-year college degree and 4 to 5 years related experience
- Or a 2-year college degree and 5 to 6 years related experience
- Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently or constantly
