The General Manager position at the Lynnwood Event Center is a full-time, salaried role offering an annual salary between $140,000 and $160,000 with additional bonus eligibility. This role requires a visionary leader who can efficiently manage a diverse team including managerial, full-time, and part-time staff. The General Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with labor laws, sanitation and food ordinances, and alcohol service regulations. They oversee financial management aspects, including budgets, revenue forecasts, labor costs, and P&L statements, to ensure profitability and operational excellence. Beyond daily operations, the General Manager is charged with identifying new revenue streams, both on-site and off-property, enhancing the center’s market position, and driving growth by leveraging strong sales and creative event development strategies. An important component of this role is close collaboration with the LPFD staff and board members, maintaining regular communication to align the venue’s activities with the district’s vision and citywide goals. The General Manager will also focus on fostering a culture of excellence and innovation among the staff, clearly mentoring and supporting professional development. This role involves executing and continuously refining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) which serve as benchmarks for measuring the venue’s success and the General Manager’s effectiveness. The General Manager will analyze KPI trends, provide detailed reports to stakeholders, and implement improvement strategies. The position also includes managing relationships with vendors and local businesses, spearheading marketing initiatives, supporting the local hospitality community, and ensuring the venue’s offerings stay cutting-edge and appealing to diverse audiences. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong sales and business development skills, previous experience in public-private partnership environments, and a track record of organizing diverse events ranging from local gatherings to large conferences. The General Manager will also bring expertise in financial management, conflict resolution, labor negotiation, crisis management, and regulatory compliance.
