We are currently looking for a passionate and skilled Kitchen Manager to join our dedicated team. As a Kitchen Manager at Gelson's, you will play an integral role in supporting the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring that all products meet the company's high standards and that customer expectations are consistently surpassed. The role requires a strong knowledge of food service operations, proficiency with kitchen equipment, and expertise in cutting techniques, including precise and moderately speedy knife skills. You will lead and supervise the kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative environment while maintaining efficient kitchen operations. Your responsibilities will include monitoring food quality, assisting in food preparation and production when necessary, and managing inventory and orders to control department shrink. A key component of this role is delivering excellent customer service and responding resourcefully and appropriately to all customer interactions. You will also collaborate with your team to design and implement effective merchandising strategies, such as creating appealing product displays, running promotions, and ensuring proper signage to maximize product movement. Maintaining compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, including HAACP and OSHA standards, is essential.   • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of experience in kitchen operations within a grocery retail setting
  • Training in culinary courses or equivalent culinary experience
  • Ability to use knives precisely and with moderate speed
  • Strong knowledge of food service operations
  • Capability to supervise and lead a team
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours and lift up to 75 lbs occasionally
  • Capability to work safely around hazardous kitchen machinery
  • Willingness to work in varied temperature environments
