The role of Food Service Clerk at ShopRite plays a crucial part in delivering a superb customer experience through attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable service. The Food Service Clerk is responsible for assisting the Food Service Manager in the daily operations of the Food Service department, maintaining a clean, organized, and visually appealing environment. This position emphasizes the safe preparation and handling of various food products while ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations. Key job functions include preparing salads, sandwiches, hot entrées like chicken, pizza, and pasta, along with catering orders, all following established recipes and company standards. This role requires multitasking through food preparation, product display maintenance, stocking, and promoting special sales and charitable promotions to customers. Besides operational duties, the Food Service Clerk plays an important part in monitoring and maintaining temperature controls in display cases and storage areas to preserve food quality. The role demands physical stamina as it involves standing or walking for the entire scheduled shift, lifting or handling items weighing up to 60 pounds, and operating typical food service equipment such as slicers, scales, fryolators, ovens, and wrapping machines. Equally important is adherence to company appearance standards, including uniform compliance and personal grooming. The Food Service Clerk should work cooperatively with the team and uphold ShopRite's service priorities to create a friendly, efficient, and safe shopping experience.
