The role of Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) and Customs Compliance Manager at DHL Supply Chain is a critical position tasked with the establishment, implementation, and continual enhancement of the FTZ program and Customs compliance initiatives across the organization's North American operations. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range between $85,000 and $150,000 per year, reflecting the importance and seniority of the role, and requires approximately 25% travel annually. As the FTZ and Customs Compliance Manager, the individual will act as a subject matter expert on Foreign Trade Zones and Customs bonded warehouses, providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders including Business Development, Operations, and customers. In this role, the manager will engage with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as well as other government agencies to ensure timely activation of FTZs and compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements. Responsibilities extend to assisting with new FTZ and bonded warehouse applications, overseeing the activation process, and ensuring that all FTZ operations are aligned with the strategic growth objectives of DHL Supply Chain. The manager will develop and deliver comprehensive training programs to educate internal teams about FTZ benefits, compliance requirements, and Customs regulations. They will also be responsible for identifying compliance risks, implementing mitigation strategies, and collaborating closely with multiple divisions such as IT, Finance, Legal, and Project Delivery to facilitate seamless FTZ activations and maintain a positive customer experience. Moreover, the role involves establishing and maintaining an internal audit program to monitor compliance with Customs regulations and continuously improve FTZ and Customs performance metrics. The manager will stay abreast of international regulatory changes and provide expert interpretations to ensure DHL Supply Chain’s offerings remain compliant and competitive. The ideal candidate will possess functional expertise in areas like project management, data analysis, risk analysis, and change management, along with strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills to lead cross-functional initiatives effectively. This position is designed for an individual with a blend of in-depth technical knowledge of Customs and trade compliance, practical experience with FTZ compliance, and the ability to manage and support a team.   • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience
  • Licensed Customs Broker or willing to take exam within 3 years
  • 5+ years experience in Customs and Trade Compliance
  • 2+ years experience with FTZ compliance
