The Front Desk Supervisor position is based at the newly renovated Courtyard by Marriott, Boston-Cambridge, located on the picturesque banks of the historic Charles River, famously hosting the Head of the Charles Regatta. This hotel benefits from a unique location between the prestigious Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.), offering 207 newly renovated guest rooms. The Front Desk Supervisor role is an exciting opportunity to become a key player in delivering exceptional guest experiences. This role supports the Guest Services Manager and the Assistant Guest Services Manager by providing courteous, attentive, and efficient service to hotel guests at every stage of their reservation and stay. The supervisor ensures smooth front desk operations, optimizes room revenue, and maximizes occupancy through effective revenue management and superior customer service. In this role, the Front Desk Supervisor performs a variety of responsibilities, including monitoring VIP and special guest requests, managing room reservations, and ensuring adherence to rate quote scenarios. They oversee daily front office logs and trace files to maintain operational accuracy and integrity. The supervisor is proficient in operating the front desk computer systems and ensures timely and professional handling of all messages, packages, and mail. This position requires a thorough understanding of hotel rates, packages, promotions, in-house groups, and blackout dates to support optimal room sales. Upholding hotel credit policies and ensuring accurate documentation related to bucket checks, room rate verifications, and housekeeping reports are critical duties of the supervisor. Additionally, the role entails maintaining effective communication and teamwork within the front office team and other hotel departments. The Front Desk Supervisor leads by example in guest service by overseeing the check-in and check-out process, ensuring all guests experience a warm and courteous welcome and departure.
