The role available is for a full-time Vascular Surgeon at the Porter Heart & Vascular Center, a prestigious and rapidly expanding division of Foundation Health Partners. Based in Interior Alaska, this opportunity offers physicians the chance to join an esteemed team led by Dr. Mark Ombrellaro, working within a thriving vascular surgery program. The surgeon will engage with a full spectrum of vascular care, spanning cutting-edge open and endovascular procedures such as EVAR (Endovascular Aneurysm Repair), TEVAR (Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair), carotid stenting, along with managing complex peripheral artery disease, carotid stenosis, aneurysms, arterial occlusions, pulmonary embolisms (PE), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and venous diseases.
The surgeon will have the advantage of working within state-of-the-art facilities including a well-equipped cath lab, hybrid operating room, and will have the full support of an experienced multidisciplinary heart and vascular care team. This collaborative environment includes robust Advanced Practice Provider (APP) support, dedicated administrative personnel, and a growing non-invasive vascular ultrasound lab staffed by registered vascular technologists. The position includes balanced scheduling from Monday to Friday with two procedure days, two clinic days, one administrative day, and shared night and weekend on-call coverage. Patient panels currently average up to 25 patients per clinic day, offering a dynamic and diverse caseload that supports professional growth and clinical challenges.
Competitive compensation features a base salary starting at $590,000 with additional work Relative Value Unit (wRVU) production bonuses, bringing total average earnings to an estimated range of $700,000 to $830,000 annually. A generous $65,000 sign-on bonus accompanies the offer to incentivize relocation and commitment to this critical role.
