As a vital member of the hospitality team at MTK Camp Kamassa, the Foodservice Assistant/Cook plays a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety, and satisfaction of campers and staff through the provision of high-quality meals and efficient kitchen operations. The role involves preparing nutritious and delicious meals aligned with specified menus, dietary requirements, and portion sizes, assisting in menu planning while considering nutritional balance and camper preferences, and maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards. Additionally, the Foodservice Assistant/Cook supports kitchen operations by maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen, assisting with inventory management, and operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Collaboration with kitchen staff and communication with camp directors and other staff members are essential to ensure smooth kitchen operations and address any dietary concerns or special requests. This role also contributes to the overall success of the camp experience by assisting with general camp duties and activities outside of kitchen responsibilities as needed, while maintaining a positive and supportive attitude that fosters a welcoming and inclusive camp environment. • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

• Previous experience in food service, culinary arts, or related field preferred
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a hot kitchen environment
• Flexibility and willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by camp schedule
