The Food Service Worker I position at Santa Maria-Bonita School District is a full-time role based at Fesler #2089 site. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of food service facilities and maintaining sanitary conditions that meet health and safety standards. The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $19.03 to $24.51 and involves a work year of 180 days, with shifts occurring from 7:45 AM to 2:15 PM. The role requires individuals to work efficiently with a focus on cleanliness, food preparation, serving, and adherence to food safety standards. This role includes a variety of hands-on duties, such as cleaning and sanitizing serving counters, tables, chairs, and kitchen equipment; operating dishwashers; assisting in food preparation including sandwiches, salads, and other simple food items; setting up food lines; heating and serving meals to students and faculty; and managing food supplies including loading, unloading, and stock rotation. Additionally, this role may involve acting as a meal checker, supervising children in the cafeteria, and performing basic recordkeeping tasks. The ability to work collaboratively with staff and students and follow both oral and written instructions is crucial. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and relevant training or experience to demonstrate familiarity with large-scale food preparation and service. Candidates must also hold a valid California Driver's License for assignments that involve driving district vehicles or working across multiple locations.
