We are currently seeking a dedicated Food Service Manager to join our Central Community Branch Team under the Early Learning Executive Director's supervision. This full-time, non-exempt role operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with competitive pay at $24.00 per hour. The Food Service Manager is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious and appealing meals to youth while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, rigorously adhering to all health department regulations. Vital to this position is a strong knowledge of federal guidelines for child nutrition programs, including the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), as well as state and local laws related to food service operations. The role demands a proactive approach to menu planning that meets daily nutritional requirements, ensuring that meals are not only healthy but also appetizing to the children served. The Food Service Manager monitors food quality by regularly checking flavor, appearance, and temperature. Inventory management is incumbent, ensuring supply orders comply with health standards and are placed in a timely manner for on-time delivery. Maintaining accurate records of meal counts, food production, and refrigerator/freezer temperatures is essential for compliance. Safety is a top priority, with responsibilities including reporting any sanitary, fire, or safety hazards promptly to supervisors. The individual also provides training and supervision to food service staff, maintaining high standards of hygiene, professional conduct, and communication with parents, students, staff, volunteers, and the community.
