As a Food Server at Melmark, you will be a vital part of the team responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the lunch program within the educational environment. This role is designed as a part-time position, working 20 hours per week from Monday through Friday, between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., excluding two school vacation weeks and holidays. The position offers an hourly rate ranging from $16 to $20, depending on experience.
In this role, you will handle communication between the school and the food vendor, carefully managing dietary needs and restrictions as prescribed by doctors to ensure each student's lunch requirements are met accurately. Your duties will include serving lunches to students, monitoring food temperatures to comply with safety standards, and maintaining clean and organized dining areas between lunch periods. Attention to detail and adherence to health regulations is critical to ensuring a safe and pleasant dining experience for the students.
This position demands exceptional organizational skills and knowledge of foodservice regulations. You will be responsible for coordinating food preparation tasks such as warming frozen items and setting up tables before meals, as well as maintaining food inventory and alerting the Director of Business Operations when supplies run low. Additionally, you will maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and staff break rooms, including cleaning refrigerators and disposing of unclaimed items. Your contribution will directly impact the wellbeing of the students and staff by maintaining a hygienic and efficient food service environment.

- High school diploma or G.E.D
- A valid US driver’s license and a minimum age of twenty-one years old
- Must be capable of attaining approved Melmark driver status
- Minimum of two years of experience in foodservice
