This immediate opening is for a Part Time Food and Beverage Supervisor at the DCU Center. The position is event-related and part-time, focusing on overseeing all Suite and Food and Beverage operations within the facility. This supervisory role is key to ensuring that all suites are fully prepared and serviced during events, coordinating with suite attendants, bartenders, and barbacks to maintain seamless operations. Responsibilities include setting up and breaking down portable bars, assisting with monthly beverage inventory, and supporting concession and banquet needs, especially when suite duties are limited. The role demands a proactive, hands-on approach with continuous interaction with clients to ensure their needs are consistently met.
Reporting directly to the Concessions Manager and collaborating closely with the Banquet Manager, Executive Chef, and Director of Food and Beverage, this supervisor position requires strong leadership skills to manage part-time staff across various food and beverage service areas. The role also holds responsibility for training and guiding employees to uphold operational standards and achieve a Health Department score of 90 or higher. Advanced organizational and communication skills are essential to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain detailed records such as attendance, event reports, and staff evaluations.
Candidates for this role should possess at least a High School Diploma or GED and have a minimum of one year of experience in bar or restaurant settings. Additionally, holding ServSafe Allergen and Alcohol Training certifications is mandatory. The position requires physical stamina due to frequent lifting, stooping, and pushing or pulling weights up to 50 pounds throughout the event operations. Computer skills, especially proficiency in Excel and adaptability to new software, are also important for managing inventories and reports effectively.
