The Strategic Meetings Management Program (SMMP) Facilitator at M&T Bank plays a critical role in steering the bank's event planning and travel activities toward cost efficiency and high-quality execution. This position requires managing the full lifecycle of strategic meetings and event planning processes for internal clients. The SMMP Facilitator acts as the primary liaison between M&T Bank employees and external travel and event suppliers, ensuring that meetings, group travel, and lodging arrangements meet internal standards and budgetary guidelines. This role supports all organizational levels up to Senior Management, including high-profile events such as Board of Directors meetings and Executive Management Committee gatherings. The SMMP Facilitator's responsibilities are multifaceted, involving site selection and venue analysis, negotiation of supplier contracts, and ongoing contract management to optimize event and travel-related expenditure. The role requires keen organizational skills and attention to detail to track and reconcile event spending, process invoices promptly, and remain compliant with the bank's risk management policies and regulatory frameworks. In addition to administrative coordination, the facilitator provides onsite event support to ensure smooth event logistics and troubleshooting when necessary. Candidates in this position will engage regularly with diverse teams and multiple business lines, requiring strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with industry best practices in hotel and venue contract management, as well as an understanding of strategic meetings management programs, is essential.
