The Food and Beverage Supervisor role at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester is a pivotal position within the Gateway North America division, specifically in the Food and Beverage department. Reporting directly to the Retail Manager, this full-time position is classified as non-exempt and operates on an at-will basis for U.S. employees. The supervisor plays a crucial role in managing the day-to-day operations of the Center's café and bar areas where guests can enjoy a variety of food and beverage options including hot meals like burgers and pizza, Starbucks® coffee, snacks, ice cream, and cold drinks.
The primary responsibility of the Food and Beverage Supervisor is to ensure that all team members deliver an exceptional guest experience by adhering to company standards for service, cleanliness, food preparation, safety, and financial controls. This includes conducting thorough training, overseeing schedules, controlling inventory, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring the visual appeal of the assigned food and beverage locations. The supervisor also assumes manager-on-duty responsibilities during shifts, overseeing multiple departments and coordinating operations across the attraction to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe functioning.
This position demands strong leadership qualities to motivate staff to prioritize guest satisfaction and achieve sales targets. The supervisor must be well-versed in food safety regulations, inventory management, and cost control. They are responsible for maintaining all food handling qualifications and local food licenses, overseeing host training programs, and ensuring compliance with the Merlin Food Safety Standards including allergen management and routine audits.
In addition to operational duties, the Food and Beverage Supervisor is charged with driving team performance through coaching, feedback, and incentive programs. They must forecast staffing needs, develop and manage employee schedules, and foster a “guest obsessed” culture among team members. The role requires adaptability to fast-paced and evolving environments, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments. Essential competencies include accountability, effective communication, teamwork, and a commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

- Must have valid food safety certificate(s) or complete certification within 30 days of employment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of related experience in food or beverage industry
- Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, holidays, and weekends
- Ability to lift or carry items up to 70 pounds
