The Lead Cook position under limited supervision plays a vital role in managing culinary operations within food venues of the Pueblo of Sandia. This role oversees high quality food preparation, adherence to established standards, proper food display and storage, and the delivery of excellent guest experiences consistently. The lead cook assists in training line cooks and contributes to creating efficient work schedules for kitchen staff and pantry employees. Responsible for ensuring all kitchen activities conform to recipes and standards, the position requires maintaining cleanliness and organization in food preparation areas and storage spaces. The role includes monitoring food safety, temperature control, and personal sanitation practices among kitchen employees. The lead cook actively investigates and resolves guest complaints related to food quality and service and is responsible for opening and closing kitchen operations when needed.
