The Field Technician role is a critical position within this company, responsible for installing a broad array of network and security hardware components. This includes but is not limited to wireless access points, electrified door hardware, access control panels, analog and IP cameras, camera servers (NVRs), power supplies, cable pathway systems, and various structured cabling systems like fiber optic, twisted pair cables, low voltage, and coaxial cables. Installations take place under varying conditions in both new construction and retrofit settings, requiring flexibility and technical expertise from the technician.
Field Technicians must be prepared for travel within the Midland/Odessa service area, including overnight stays of up to four consecutive nights per week, providing them with a unique opportunity to gain diverse hands-on experience across multiple job sites. - High school diploma or GED
- valid driver’s license
- certification in at least one VMS system
- certification in at least one structured cabling system
- minimum one year experience in installation or equivalent
- ability to pass background check and drug screening
- basic knowledge of networking principles
- basic knowledge of IP camera technology and controller hardware
- ability to terminate and test category and fiber optic cables
- basic knowledge of low voltage principles including ohm’s law and load calculations
- ability to read blueprints and specifications
- strong communication skills
- willingness to mentor others
