As an Assistant General Manager at Fairfield Inn & Suites Indianapolis East, you will play a crucial role in driving the hotel's operational success and delivering exceptional guest experiences. This overtime-eligible managerial position requires you to step in for the General Manager when necessary, supervising multiple departments and focusing on operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and financial performance. Your responsibilities will include supporting the General Manager in managing recruitment, hiring, and continuous training of Guest Services staff, ensuring all team members uphold the highest service standards through corporate-approved training programs. Leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential as you will be expected to resolve workplace issues proactively, maintain open communication with guests and staff, and lead by example in fostering a culture of empowerment and growth.
Your role will also involve financial oversight where you will work with relevant data to aid in revenue generation and cost control, ensuring the hotel meets its profitability goals. Organizational skills and attention to personal appearance standards are important to represent the brand professionally. This position is designed for individuals with at least 5 years of progressive experience in hotel operations, especially within Rooms or Food & Beverage departments, or equivalent combinations of education and experience. Supervisory experience is mandatory, along with the ability to handle high-pressure situations with composure and effectiveness. Certification in areas such as Food Handling, Alcohol Awareness, CPR, and First Aid may be required to comply with regulations.
