The Facilities Maintenance Housekeeper plays a critical role in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and overall facility upkeep that members and guests expect. This position is responsible for the comprehensive cleanliness of club facilities, both indoors and outdoors, ensuring that all areas such as restrooms, locker rooms, dining areas, common spaces, and recreational facilities are presented immaculately. The role involves routine cleaning tasks, addressing immediate sanitation concerns, and assisting with various maintenance activities to support the club's operational needs.
Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, the Facilities Maintenance Housekeeper helps sustain an environment that reflects the club's commitment to quality and member satisfaction. This includes maintaining carpets through vacuuming and spot cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and polishing floors in various club areas including courts, exercise rooms, stairwells, lobbies, and hallways. The role requires meticulous attention to detail when dusting and wiping furniture, shelves, chandeliers, artwork, and all other fixtures. Beyond cleaning, the position entails performing or coordinating minor maintenance and repairs related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, carpentry, flooring, and general building upkeep. Managing a maintenance and project checklist to ensure preventive maintenance and ongoing improvements is a vital responsibility.
The job demands effective communication skills to coordinate with supervisors, departmental heads, members, and guests, ensuring that maintenance requests are prioritized, documented, and completed in a timely manner. Flexibility and adaptability are essential as employees may be called upon to assist in additional tasks due to the dynamic nature of the club environment. The ideal candidate for this position will have at least a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of two years' experience in general maintenance, housekeeping, or janitorial services specifically within a golf club or similar setting. Knowledge and practice of cleaning and sanitation best practices, familiarity with cleaning diverse surfaces, and basic skills or training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and building maintenance are considered advantageous. Compliance with OSHA regulations and relevant codes is crucial to ensure safe and effective club operations.
Physical requirements include frequent sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds, along with the ability to perform physical tasks like squatting, kneeling, and twisting. The use of standard maintenance and cleaning tools such as brooms, mops, vacuums, ladders, and various hand tools is a regular part of the job.
