We are currently seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join our culinary team at the Omni Dallas Convention Center. This is an excellent opportunity for a culinary professional who thrives in an upscale, fast-paced hotel environment and is passionate about pastries and baking. The Pastry Chef will take charge of directing and coordinating all pastry and baking preparations throughout the hotel, ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained across all outlets and banquet services. This role is crucial for maintaining the hotel’s reputation for culinary excellence and exceptional guest satisfaction.
As the Pastry Chef, you will oversee production schedules, food cost control, purchasing supplies, and personnel management within the pastry department. Your leadership will guide interviewing, hiring, training, counseling, and disciplining pastry associates in collaboration with the Executive Chef and Human Resources team. Your creativity and skill will shine as you prepare specialty desserts, banquet pastries, and even custom wedding cakes for social functions. Additionally, you will coordinate and execute VIP amenities and lobby activations, contributing to the overall guest experience at the Omni Dallas Hotel.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to maintain composure under pressure, and possess strong organizational skills. You should have the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently, manage a team effectively, and maintain a clean and professional workspace at all times. This role requires physical stamina to handle manual tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and standing or walking for long periods during a work shift. Availability for weekends and holidays is mandatory to meet the demands of hotel operations.
