The Executive Chef at Arvum Senior Living plays a critical leadership role within the culinary operations of the community. Working closely with the Hospitality Manager, the Executive Chef is responsible for the overall management and oversight of culinary strategies, daily kitchen activities, and special events. This leadership position involves the coordination of meal preparation, accurate food consumption estimates, recipe selection and development, and standardization of production recipes to ensure consistent food quality and presentation. The Executive Chef’s responsibilities extend to planning menus that meet residents’ dietary needs and preferences while maintaining compliance with safety, sanitation, and equipment maintenance standards.
This role demands creativity and innovation in developing culinary offerings while balancing budgetary restrictions related to food and labor costs. The Executive Chef ensures that purchasing standards are strictly followed, vendor relationships are well-maintained, and inventory is accurately tracked. Additionally, managing and supervising the kitchen and back-of-house staff to ensure disciplined operations, quality control, and excellent customer service are instrumental to success in this role. The Executive Chef also collaborates with various leadership roles, including the Executive Director and Hospitality Manager, to maintain high resident and staff satisfaction as well as compliance with health standards.
Beyond kitchen management, the Executive Chef is responsible for event catering and culinary instruction or demonstrations as needed. The role is pivotal in fostering a culture that emphasizes teamwork between front-of-house and back-of-house staff, ensuring a seamless resident dining experience that exceeds expectations. Regular meetings with residents and family members help gauge satisfaction and encourage continuous improvement.                 - Bachelor's degree or associate degree with five years experience
 - Minimum five years experience as Executive Chef in hospitality
 - Current ServSafe Certification
 - Experience managing culinary staff
 - Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation
 - Ability to work flexible hours including special events
 - Good physical stamina
 - Effective communication skills
