We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team at The Westin Tampa Bay. This full-time position plays a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of food quality and service throughout the property while adhering to budgetary limitations. The Executive Chef will oversee all kitchen operations, supervising chefs, cooks, and pantry personnel to ensure that food is prepared and presented according to specifications. This role requires strategic staffing management across multiple food preparation areas and employee dining facilities. Additionally, the Executive Chef will manage food inventory, ensuring adequate supplies of meats, perishables, and other grocery items are maintained, while also optimizing purchasing procedures to align with changing specifications. Responsibilities include ensuring strict adherence to sanitation standards in all storage areas and that kitchen equipment is functioning properly. The Executive Chef will be responsible for coordinating the preparation and storage of pre-prepared items to meet demand while maintaining quality. They will guarantee requisitioning only necessary quantities from storerooms and oversee the proper breakdown and utilization of prime meat cuts, minimizing waste and maximizing resources. The role also encompasses managing the preparation of essential vegetables and ensuring the correct portioning and timely preparation of convenience items like salad dressings, soups, appetizers, and hot and cold dishes. Creativity and budget-conscious menu planning are crucial components of this position. The Executive Chef will select recipes that are not only flavorful and appealing but also cost-effective, ensuring ingredients and portion sizes meet financial goals.   • Associate degree in culinary arts or equivalent apprenticeship
