The Executive Chef position at the Social Club within the University Club San Diego represents a pivotal leadership role in this dynamic environment. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations to deliver culinary experiences that are both innovative and aligned with Invited's high standards. Your role includes the strategic planning of diverse menus to meet guest preferences and event requirements, managing food preparation processes, and handling the procurement of kitchen supplies and equipment to ensure optimal quality and cost-effectiveness. Supervision and coordination of kitchen staff, along with spearheading training and development to foster a motivated and efficient team, are critical components of this role.
In addition to operational responsibilities, maintaining stringent health, safety, and licensing regulations is paramount to create a safe and sanitary working environment. You will be accountable for the financial health of the kitchen operations, managing food and labor costs to meet budgetary goals while maintaining excellent culinary standards. Collaboration within various departments, particularly working closely with the Food & Beverage Director and Event Sales Director, supports the orchestration of banquets and special events, ensuring the seamless execution of cooking and serving arrangements.
The Executive Chef also plays a vital role in member engagement by interacting directly with club members during daily table visits, gathering feedback, and enhancing the club's culinary reputation within the community. Attention to detail in menu engineering, pricing strategies, and inventory management further contributes to the profitability and quality service that defines Invited’s clubs. - High school diploma or equivalent
- a minimum of 3 years as an Executive Chef with proven expertise in supervising kitchen staff, managing cost controls, ensuring product quality, and maintaining sanitation standards
- valid county food handler’s and ServeSafe permit
- excellent leadership and communication skills
- strong financial acumen and budgeting experience
