The Executive Chef role at Oak View Group is a pivotal position with broad responsibilities in managing the culinary team, an integral department within the venue's food and beverage operations. The Executive Chef will lead and mentor a team of 35 full-time and part-time culinary staff, taking full ownership of employment-related actions including hiring, termination, suspension, discipline, promotion, and transfers. This leadership role requires the Executive Chef to create a positive, compliant, and cooperative work environment while overseeing all culinary operations with precision and professionalism.
The Executive Chef is directly responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen aligned with Oak View Group’s policies and objectives, including event planning support, scheduling, food preparation, food cost control, food safety compliance, kitchen safety, and employee training. Additionally, this role demands a high level of operational oversight, culinary expertise, and personnel management to ensure smooth functioning of all food outlets and events hosted by the company. Maintaining excellent attendance and availability for a variable event-driven schedule—often comprising evenings and weekends—is essential. The Executive Chef must exemplify professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, self-direction, and the ability to lead by example.
This is a full-time role offering an annual salary range of $68,000 to $78,000. It comes with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company matching, and paid time off consisting of vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays. - Minimum of 3-5 years kitchen management experience
- Professional appearance and presentation
- Valid Food Handler's card and alcohol service permit if required
- Ability to obtain certification in nationally recognized sanitation program
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
