The Newport Beach Marriott Bayview, located at 500 Bayview Circle in Newport Beach, California, is seeking a full-time, seasonal Reservations Agent to join their dynamic team. This non-management role offers an hourly wage of $28.00 and involves handling all room reservation processes including requests, changes, and cancellations via telephone, fax, or email. The Reservations Agent is responsible for identifying guest needs related to room bookings, determining the appropriate room types, confirming availability and rates, and explaining guarantee policies and cancellation rules to callers. A strong focus on exceptional customer service is essential, as the agent must address special requests, answer questions about hotel facilities and services, and utilize sales techniques to maximize revenue.
In this role, the agent will also manage VIP reservation information, accurately enter and access reservation data in the reservation system, and resolve any difficulties encountered by guests. Effective communication and coordination with other hotel departments are crucial, particularly when overseeing room blocks for groups and ensuring billing accounts are correctly set up in compliance with company policies and accounting standards. The agent is expected to maintain a professional appearance, adhere to company policies and confidentiality standards, and provide inclusive service that accommodates guests with disabilities. Additionally, the role involves general administrative duties such as preparing accurate documentation, using proper telephone protocols, and maintaining organized records. Physical requirements include the ability to move items weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
