At the Dayton-Miamisburg, OH location, Michaels is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Event Coordinator to plan, organize, and execute a variety of in-store events, with a special focus on children’s birthday parties and craft classes. This role is designed for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and enjoys engaging with customers to create memorable, fun, and stress-free experiences. Team Members in this position will demonstrate strong organizational skills, creativity, and a customer-first attitude while ensuring all events meet the company’s high standards for quality and safety.
The Event Coordinator will be responsible for managing multiple events simultaneously, engaging guests from young children to seniors, and delivering exceptional customer service before, during, and after all activities. This includes performing craft project demonstrations, face painting, handling party add-ons, and maintaining clear communication with clients and store staff to adapt plans as needed. The role also involves handling administrative duties such as responding to emails and phone calls, tracking event details, and coordinating logistics to ensure smooth execution.
In addition to event coordination, the Team Member assists with daily store operations like merchandise stocking, truck unloading, merchandise recovery, and enhancing store appearance to uphold the company’s brand promise. Providing fast and friendly customer service at the checkout counter and supporting the store’s Rewards program, Private Label Credit Card enrollments, and Omni-channel initiatives like Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) are also important aspects of this role. Candidates will gain valuable experience in retail operations, customer engagement, and creative events management within a supportive and dynamic environment.

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous retail or customer service experience
