This specific position is at the Michaels store located in Hart-Avon, CT. The role is designed to enhance the customer experience through engaging event coordination and excellent customer service. Operating as an Event Coordinator and Store Associate, this position combines the responsibilities of planning and facilitating events, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes, with traditional retail duties such as customer assistance, merchandise handling, and maintaining store standards. This is a customer-facing role that demands enthusiasm, creativity, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while providing a fun and enjoyable experience for guests of all ages. The role requires someone who can engage effectively with participants ranging from young children to seniors, ensuring each event is memorable and well-organized.
Beyond event coordination, this position involves supporting all facets of the store’s operations, such as assisting customers with locating products, delivering a fast and friendly checkout experience, enrolling customers in rewards and credit card programs, and facilitating omnichannel shopping processes like Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS). Additionally, you will be involved in inventory tasks, including unloading trucks, stocking shelves, implementing planograms, and executing merchandise recovery and maintenance. Safety and cleanliness are also key priorities, with the need to maintain company standards before, during, and after events.
The compensation for this role ranges from $15.69 to $18.20 per hour, reflecting its combination of event management and retail service skills.
