The Event Coordinator role at the Michaels store in Jackson-Flowood, MS is designed for individuals with a passion for creativity, customer engagement, and delivering memorable experiences. Responsibilities include managing multiple events simultaneously, working with clients from toddlers to seniors, instructing craft projects, performing face painting, and implementing party add-ons like goody bags and balloons. In addition to event facilitation, this role involves significant interaction with store customers to assist them in locating products, providing purchasing guidance, and ensuring a fast, friendly checkout experience. The coordinator will also participate in crucial operational duties such as unloading trucks, merchandising, and maintaining store standards to uphold Michaels’ brand promises. This multifaceted position requires someone who is energetic and enthusiastic, with strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience working with children and in retail or customer service environments. Safety, cleanliness, and compliance with company policies are critical components of the role. The Event Coordinator will maintain store cleanliness before, during, and after events, support inventory and safety programs, and assist with omnichannel processes including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS). The role demands physical activity such as standing for long periods, bending, lifting heavy boxes, and working with ladders or similar equipment.
