The Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA), based at UC Berkeley, serves as a vibrant hub for research, training, and innovation aimed at influencing global policies and enhancing lives, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. The role of Events Associate at CEGA is pivotal in advancing the Center's mission by managing diverse events locally and internationally, including virtual convenings. This position demands a highly organized, proactive professional who can independently oversee complex logistical arrangements, vendor coordination, travel bookings, and event staffing. The Events Associate will serve as the primary liaison for all event-related activities and contribute significantly to refining internal processes to optimize event execution. They will work closely with CEGA’s communications team to aid in marketing events, managing digital content, and supporting outreach efforts that enhance CEGA's visibility and stakeholder engagement.
This full-time, exempt position offers an annual salary range of $74,700 to $85,205. The Events Associate is expected to bring expertise in event planning, project management, and communications while fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment. The role includes responsibilities such as developing timelines, budgets, promotional strategies, and post-event evaluations to ensure continuous improvement. Moreover, the incumbent will participate actively in center-wide initiatives, contributing to knowledge management, staff recruitment, and professional growth, further solidifying CEGA's organizational effectiveness. This dynamic role requires adaptability, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with digital tools such as Eventbrite, Google Suite, WordPress, and audiovisual technology, among others. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker capable of engaging diverse audiences and upholding CEGA’s values in global development and social justice.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
- at least one year of relevant work experience related to event planning and management, including organizing and implementing complex logistical components of high-stakes, high-visibility events
