The role of Event Manager at Oak View Group involves comprehensive management responsibilities for assigned events, extending from the initial planning phase to the successful conclusion of each event. The Event Manager oversees critical activities such as building and t-shirt security, guest services, and coordination with local public safety officials to ensure the smooth operation of events. This role reports directly to the Director of Operations and requires dedication to maintaining high standards and delivering exceptional experiences for guests and clients. Geographically, this position is based at the Pan American Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico, a versatile arena with a seating capacity exceeding 12,500, located on the New Mexico State University campus.
The annual salary range for this position is $45,000 to $50,000, offering a competitive compensation package along with full-time benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions, and paid time off encompassing vacation days, sick days, and recognized holidays. The Event Manager plays a pivotal role in directing a large part-time event staff, which includes ushers, ticket takers, back-of-house security, and parking employees. This is essential for enhancing the guest and client experience across over 200 events annually hosted at the venue.
This role demands a strategic approach to guest service, with responsibilities including developing comprehensive service programs, creating event floor plans using AutoCAD, consulting with various stakeholders such as promoters and athletic representatives, and preparing work orders and cost estimates. The Event Manager ensures clients remain well-informed of all deadlines and event specifications while managing event-related documentation and billing.
