The position is non-exempt, 12-month, full-time, with a work schedule from 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. Duties range from sweeping, mopping, waxing, and polishing floors to dusting furniture and equipment, as well as collecting and disposing waste. The custodian will also be responsible for vacuuming carpeted areas, performing routine maintenance on custodial equipment, and maintaining sanitary restrooms and lavatories. Handling spills— including bodily fluids—in a safe and appropriate manner is also a crucial part of the role, underscoring the importance of safety awareness and adherence to proper protocols. The custodian is expected to verify daily completed tasks by initialing duty lists, assist in snow and ice removal as needed during winter months, and operate district vehicles to transport materials and supplies between campuses.
