The Environmental Services (EVS) Specialist position at Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital plays a crucial role in supporting this mission by overseeing daily housekeeping and floor maintenance operations in assigned areas. Serving as a resource and expert for Environmental Services staff, the EVS Specialist fosters an environment that prioritizes safe patient care and helps team members develop their knowledge and skills. Compliance with department-specific processes for room cleaning and discharge inspections is paramount, aiming to meet or exceed cleanliness standards measured by HCAHPS and other metrics. The EVS Specialist takes an active role in equipment safety checks, logging and reporting repair needs, and correcting minor safety hazards to ensure a secure environment for patients and staff alike. • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• One year of progressive responsibility in Environmental Services or related field preferred
• Two years of Environmental Services hospital experience preferred
• DOTHAZMAT Certification within 90 days of hire
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
