Dry Dock is a renowned restaurant located in Portland, Maine's vibrant Old Port district. Originally opened in 1983 and closed in 2018, the restaurant has made a remarkable comeback with a grand reopening in the summer of 2025. Operated by the reputable Luke's Lobster team, Dry Dock is strategically positioned on the waterfront at 84 Commercial Street, just steps away from Luke's Lobster's first Maine location on Portland Pier. This two-story establishment boasts an expanded deck and renovated interiors, providing guests with a warm, inviting atmosphere and scenic views of the waterfront. Dry Dock specializes in high-quality, responsibly sourced seafood, featuring a premier raw bar and a comprehensive beverage program. It caters to both locals and visitors, offering an exceptional dining experience driven by fresh ingredients and exemplary service. Luke's Lobster, founded in 2009 by Maine native and third-generation lobsterman Luke Holden, is a certified B Corporation. The company has expanded to over 25 locations in the United States, with international spots in Japan and Singapore, and products available nationwide in grocery stores. The reopening of Dry Dock marks an exciting new chapter under the leadership of Chef Matt Ginn, who also serves as General Manager. His vision is to revitalize this iconic spot with a modern twist while preserving its beloved local charm. The team at Dry Dock is committed to delivering an exceptional seafood dining experience with a focus on hospitality, quality, and sustainability. The Support team positions at Dry Dock, including Hosts, Bussers, and Runners, play a pivotal role in maintaining smooth restaurant operations and creating memorable guest experiences. This is a great opportunity for those who thrive in fast-paced, high-energy environments and are passionate about hospitality. The roles require individuals who are energetic, team-oriented, communicative, and efficient. These team members work together to ensure guests feel welcome, the dining spaces are clean and organized, and service runs seamlessly from kitchen to table. The restaurant is currently hiring for support roles with Monday through Thursday morning availability. Compensation for Support roles starts at $9.00 per hour plus tips, with comprehensive benefits for full-time employees. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance with company premium contributions after one month, access to Health Savings Accounts and supplemental insurance policies, a low-fee 401k retirement plan, accrued Maine Earned Leave, employee discounts, and opportunities for advancement within a growing company. The dress code is casual, promoting a comfortable work environment. Support team members engage in greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, clearing and resetting tables, and delivering food and beverages accurately. Attention to detail, adherence to safety and sanitation standards, and clear communication are essential qualities for this role. Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds as required, and tolerate exposure to shellfish allergens due to the nature of the menu. The company fosters an inclusive workplace free from harassment and promotes fair treatment of all employees throughout the employment lifecycle. Dry Dock also participates in E-Verify.
