The Doubletree by Hilton Omaha Downtown is a renowned full-service hotel strategically located in the heart of Omaha, Nebraska. The Doubletree by Hilton Omaha Downtown is actively seeking highly skilled and motivated hospitality professionals to join their dynamic team. Specifically, the hotel is looking to fill the role of Director of Sales & Marketing, a critical leadership position responsible for spearheading the hotel's sales strategies and driving revenue growth. As Director of Sales, the successful candidate will lead the strategic planning and execution of all sales department objectives by leveraging strong prospecting skills and business insight to surpass room night and revenue targets consistently. Managing a team of sales managers, the Director will recruit, motivate, support, and develop high-performing sales professionals to achieve these goals. This role requires an individual who can create and work within budgetary frameworks, deliver detailed reporting on group sales activities to the General Manager, and uphold the standards set forth by Hilton’s Westmont service model. Additionally, the Director of Sales will play an integral role in supporting corporate and hotel initiatives, maintaining strong local business relationships, and representing the hotel at out-of-town conventions to generate further business opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of hotel sales management experience and a demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively. Key responsibilities include driving group and convention business not solely through room sales but encompassing food and beverage and catering/banquet services as well. The Director will be expected to coordinate scheduling of events and work collaboratively with multiple hotel departments to ensure flawless execution. Strong negotiation skills, aggressive sales tactics, and an ability to "knock on doors" to secure business are essential. Familiarity with sales software such as Delphi and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools are important for managing sales operations smoothly.
This role emphasizes a friendly, customer-centric attitude and encourages a fun, team-oriented work environment. Effective communication, problem-solving, and relationship management skills are vital for success.
