The Door Attendant role at Mayo Clinic plays a critical part in enhancing patient and visitor experience by ensuring seamless transportation and mobility assistance. This position is responsible for greeting and assisting patients and guests as they arrive or depart via cars, courtesy vans, shuttle buses, or taxis. Establishing a friendly and helpful rapport with visitors, the attendant helps direct guests, offers mobility support, and answers general inquiries to facilitate a smooth and positive reception. Key responsibilities include maintaining clear patient loading zones, transporting patients and their belongings, managing taxi and courtesy vehicle communications, assisting valet operations, sanitizing equipment, and managing traffic flow in drive-up areas to ensure safety. The role requires wheelchair recovery duties across various areas including hospital and clinic floors, hotels, and other affiliated campuses.
