The role of Dock Supervisor at Estes is integral to the company's operational success. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, Assistant Terminal Manager, and/or Terminal Manager, the Dock Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of dock employees to ensure a smooth, efficient, and safe LTL operation. This role includes setting performance targets, monitoring employee activities, and providing coaching, counseling, and developmental support to maintain high standards. The Dock Supervisor manages daily dock planning and scheduling, ensuring equipment such as trailers and tractors are properly assigned and moved in coordination with other supervisory staff. Compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and government rules is critical, and the Dock Supervisor enforces this at all times.
A key responsibility of the Dock Supervisor is to oversee all dock paperwork, ensuring accuracy and timely processing to support operational flow. They are also tasked with communicating effectively with customers through phone, fax, or email, helping to maintain strong customer relationships. The position demands regular attendance and the ability to perform other duties as necessary based on operational and safety requirements.
