The working schedule is Tuesday through Saturday with varying hours, which provides some flexibility for candidates. This role is fundamental in maintaining an orderly and sanitary kitchen by ensuring a steady supply of clean dishes, utensils, and cookware necessary for daily food preparation and service.
The Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper is tasked with operating industrial dishwashing equipment as well as performing hand-washing tasks that require meticulous care particularly with glassware and delicate items. Rotating dishware to reduce wear, maintaining cleanliness in storage areas, and adhering strictly to sanitation policies are crucial components of this role. Beyond washing duties, the position also includes assisting prep cooks and other kitchen personnel, especially during peak service times, to maintain workflow and meet service demands efficiently.
Safety is a priority; therefore, the role involves immediate cleanup of spills or broken glass to prevent accidents. The Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper also needs to report any maintenance or sanitation issues promptly to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. This job demands a physical ability to perform various movements such as standing for extended periods, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds safely. The candidate should be comfortable working in a physically active environment that requires agility and endurance.
