The role of Director of Rooms at Millennium Minneapolis is a pivotal leadership position within the hotel. The Director of Rooms is tasked with managing and overseeing the entire Rooms Division which includes Front Office operations, Concierge services, Guest Recognition programs, PBX communications, Housekeeping, Valet laundry, and Valet parking services. This leadership role demands a dynamic, problem-solving professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and prioritizes guest satisfaction at every turn. This individual will be instrumental in driving the department's revenue opportunities while ensuring seamless operations and adherence to hotel and company standards.
As Director of Rooms, you will lead a team by establishing clear direction and fostering a culture of excellence and professionalism. Your leadership will involve recruiting, hiring, training, developing, and continuously evaluating its members to maximize operational efficiency and excellent service delivery standards. Effective communication skills will be essential in maintaining collaboration across departments and ensuring an inclusive work environment. Financial acumen is important as well, since you will manage departmental budgets, analyze costs, and align financial performance with projected goals. Proficiency in Windows Operating Systems as well as spreadsheet and word-processing software is expected to support administrative and reporting duties.

 - at least 5 years of experience in a similar position
 - valid driver's license from the applicable state
 - able to work effectively under pressure, maintaining composure while quickly evaluating situations and determining the best course of action
 - a strong communicator who listens actively to understand concerns raised by coworkers and guests, and effectively conveys ideas and solutions
