The Director of Operations I role at HMSHost located in Dayton International Airport is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing all revenue-generating activities and operational functions within approximately six restaurants and their staff. The Director ensures that all restaurants operate smoothly with strict adherence to cleanliness, staffing, and business hours while meeting high operational and financial standards. This role holds General Managers and their teams accountable for executing daily operational tasks including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and compliance with company standards and safety regulations. The Director of Operations I is also tasked with building and sustaining strong relationships with landlords, unions, DBE/joint venture partners, and other key stakeholders, playing a crucial role in the company’s external relations and collaboration efforts. This position requires sound judgment, strategic planning, and leadership skills to direct various aspects of multi-unit restaurant operations. Additional responsibilities include facilitating the development and implementation of budgets, forecasting, and achieving financial goals. The incumbent must engage with regional leadership on financial decisions, purchasing, and loss prevention while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards across the locations. The Director of Operations I also drives employee engagement through coaching, motivation, recognition programs, and maintaining diversity and inclusion initiatives.
