The Director of Food and Beverage plays a critical leadership role within Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation. This position is responsible for overseeing the food and beverage operations across multiple outlets, including a full-service restaurant, quick service restaurant, seasonal pool operation, and hotel banquets. The Director’s role is to provide strategic direction and active support to ensure that all food and beverage services align with the company’s high standards for service, quality, and guest satisfaction. A major focus of this role includes driving financial performance by maximizing revenues and tightly controlling costs, while maintaining excellence in guest service and hospitality.
This leadership role requires a highly experienced individual with a minimum of 10 years of progressive senior food and beverage management experience, ideally in upscale, full-service hotel environments. The Director is tasked with developing programming, training, and service standards that enhance staff performance and elevate the guest experience. By fostering a positive and productive work environment, the Director supports team members with effective communication, mentorship, and ongoing development opportunities. The position requires hands-on oversight of daily operations, ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness, safety, and compliance with food safety standards.
Candidates for this role must demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, and proficiency in managing budgets, financial statements, and operational systems. They must also be adept at leading teams, adapting to change, and working collaboratively across all levels of the organization.                 - 10+ years of progressive food and beverage management experience at a senior level
 - Experience with both back and front of house operations
 - Experience in independent restaurants, catering, banquets and general hotel responsibilities
 - Hotel management experience preferred
 - Must be detail-oriented
 - Strong organizational and communication skills
 - Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds occasionally
 - Strong professional presence
 - Ability to interact effectively with all organizational levels
