The Department Manager position at World Wide Wings is essential in maintaining the smooth operations and profitability of the restaurant. This role is multifaceted, targeting specific operational areas including the Heart of House (HOH), Bar Department, and Hospitality. The Department Manager is accountable for managing staff, resources, and the overall guest experience within their department, while assisting the General Manager with overseeing the entire restaurant operation on a shift-by-shift basis.
For the Heart of House Department Manager, responsibilities focus on managing all food-related matters, including staff planning and development, ensuring food quality, safety compliance, inventory control, and operational standards. The Bar Department Manager oversees beverage operations, including alcohol ordering, inventory, and compliance with Responsible Alcohol Service laws, while leading the bar staff’s training and development. The Hospitality Manager prioritizes the dining room’s guest experience, team member planning, and development, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
The role demands strong leadership skills for staffing, succession planning, recruitment, training, motivation, and performance management of their departments. Department Managers are key drivers in creating engaging work environments through incentive programs and contests, maintaining compliance with training certifications, and fostering communication and teamwork. Candidates must be prepared to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with flexibility to be on-call and work up to 50 hours per week.
World Wide Wings offers competitive remuneration, with pay ranging from $18.00 to $27.40 per hour. This role requires candidates to have a minimum of 2 years of restaurant or retail management experience, preferably managing a full-service restaurant with a bar. A high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and successful completion of the Buffalo Wild Wings Management Certification program are also required.
