Joining the team as a Dental Receptionist offers a unique opportunity to play a critical front-line role where interpersonal skills and customer service are paramount. In this role, Dental Receptionists act as the first point of contact for patients visiting the dental department, greeting them warmly and managing all front office clerical functions. Dental Receptionists work closely with the Dental Supervisor and other clinic management to maintain smooth operations, ensure complete and accurate documentation of patient encounters, and uphold confidentiality standards. They play an integral role in fostering a welcoming atmosphere while supporting the dental team by handling inquiries, managing communications, and participating in health center meetings for continued professional development. This non-exempt role offers a starting hourly pay of $21, with salary depending on the candidate's knowledge, skills, and experience. The ideal candidate for the Dental Receptionist position will have a high school diploma or GED, with preferred additional training in Medical Office Assisting from an accredited college. A minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. Strong customer service skills and the ability to build rapport quickly with a diverse patient population are essential. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are a plus, enhancing communication with the community served. Candidates should demonstrate excellent organizational and problem-solving capabilities, attention to detail, intermediate computer skills, and flexibility to work extended or flexible hours as required by the health center's needs.
Physically, candidates must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and push up to 50 pounds on wheels. They should have sufficient hearing and speech clarity to communicate effectively over the phone and in person. Manual dexterity and the ability to reach, bend, squat, sit, stand, stoop, crouch, kneel, twist, and turn are part of the physical demands of the role.
