This position is for a Host/Hostess, who plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by warmly greeting and seating guests promptly and courteously. Reporting directly to the General Manager and Restaurant Manager, the Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests, setting the tone for their dining experience. This role requires an individual who is attentive to guest needs, capable of managing guest seating efficiently to minimize wait times, and knowledgeable about the menu and promotions to suggestively sell items and take initial beverage orders. Demonstrating Denny's Guiding Principles in every interaction, the Host/Hostess ensures a friendly, organized, and inviting environment throughout the dining area. The Host/Hostess is responsible for maintaining the foyer area, managing the guest waiting list according to proper seating orders, and assisting other service personnel by facilitating beverage orders and clearing tables. Additionally, this position entails safe cash handling, processing payments accurately, and handling takeout orders with precision. The Host/Hostess must be able to work under pressure in a bustling restaurant setting while exhibiting a keen sense of urgency and attention to detail. Physical demands of the role include the ability to stand and walk throughout the entire shift, lift trays and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds, and have sufficient mobility to perform tasks such as bending, reaching, wiping, and grasping. Good hearing in a noisy environment is essential to respond promptly to both guest and team member needs. Effective communication skills in English are required, along with the ability to operate point-of-sale systems and follow health and safety regulations pertaining to food handling. This position requires flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be dependable, capable of learning basic tasks, and able to uphold Denny's uniform and grooming standards consistently.
