The Chef de Cuisine role at Olympia Hospitality and the Sophy Hotel offers a rewarding opportunity to lead the kitchen team in preparing high-quality meals that meet rigorous company standards, menu specifications, and production schedules defined by the Executive Chef. This position requires a strong culinary leader responsible for overseeing kitchen staff during all meal periods to ensure consistent and excellent food quality. Beyond meal preparation, the role encompasses maintaining standard operating procedures, managing kitchen systems including preparation logs, inventory control, product usage, and PMIX reporting. The Chef de Cuisine will administer training programs aimed at staff development while exercising financial prudence in managing food and labor costs. Additionally, programming and designing menus for all meal periods falls under this vital role.
In the absence of the Executive Chef, the Chef de Cuisine assumes responsibility for enforcing health and safety standards following state and federal regulations, guaranteeing a safe kitchen environment at all times. This leadership role demands not only culinary expertise but also the ability to motivate, mentor, and coach team members, fostering a cohesive and positive culture that emphasizes professionalism, profitability, and employee satisfaction.                 - Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
 - At least 2 years of high volume kitchen management experience
 - Culinary degree or equivalent education preferred
 - Experience in food and beverage supervisory roles
 - Serve Safe Certification highly preferred
 - Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
 - Physical ability to perform demanding tasks including standing, walking, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds
 - Reliable communication skills
 - Capability to work under pressure and maintain composure
 - Knowledge of health and food safety regulations
