The Airport Senior Manager of Airfield Operations is a critical executive leadership role within the City of Cleveland's Airport Operations team. This position provides high-level oversight and strategic management of all airfield-related functions including airfield safety, airport operations, common use systems, field maintenance, and vehicle maintenance. The Senior Manager ensures that all operational and maintenance activities comply with federal regulations and airport standards, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous innovation. This role requires a seasoned professional who can lead cross-functional teams, develop and implement operational strategies, and drive initiatives that enhance airfield reliability, technology integration, and sustainability. This position demands expertise in managing complex operations 24/7, including snow and ice control programs, vehicle fleets, and ground field maintenance, typically within a Part 139 certificated airport environment. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating with internal and external stakeholders such as the FAA, TSA, airlines, vendors, and city officials to ensure seamless operations and regulatory compliance. The role also involves financial oversight, including budget development and contract management, to optimize resource allocation and operational efficiency. In addition to operational leadership, the Senior Manager champions technological innovation by implementing real-time inspection tools, data-driven performance metrics, and predictive maintenance systems that align with the airport's strategic vision. This role is instrumental in preparing for FAA certification inspections and managing emergency response coordination during irregular operations or severe weather events. The ideal candidate will possess certifications and qualifications relevant to the aviation industry and demonstrate success in fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.   • Must successfully complete TSA 10-year fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check and employment background check and Security Threat Assessment
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test
  • NIMS and ICS certifications for General Employee tier and any assigned working groups must be completed within six months of employment
